every king of cheese needs his queen

August 24, 2007

One of the things I love most about having a blog (and blog readers) is some of the self-made art and music that people have forwarded me.
One such thing recently was Every King of Cheese Needs His Queen, a song by The Stanley Zappa Quartet .
It’s delightfully jazz-damaged.

Personnel: Mark Leonard, bass; Nick Skrowaczewski, drums and percussion; Stanley Zappa, saxophones; Wyatt Doyle, voice.

  1. Thank you very much for sharing our music! Any friend of Kill Ugly Radio is a friend of mine, and we are in proud company indeed.

A minor correction: the ensemble is actually The Stanley Zappa Quartet (“New Texture” is the site where we post our work). 3/4 of the group (Leonard, Skrowaczewski, Zappa) have a release called VISIONS on Bill Dixon’s Archive/Edition label; it’s available from CDBaby.
