Lost Episode: 04/03/09

I did a guest slot on KBOO last April, when the big G-20 Summit and NATO commemoration was going on and the ensuing riots in the UK.

I ended up playing audio from live video reports, video from Indymedias around the area and commentary about the events from the web, all intermixed with music.
This also coincided with KBOO’s hosting of the National Federation of Community Broadcasters convention, which meant that when I was doing my show, there was a huge open house and party going on in the station. Lots of folks from radio stations across the US where listening while eating and drinking beer and wine and occasionally popping into the air room to see what it was I was doing.
It was fun doing a show like that and quite a few people said complimentary things or said they’d never heard a show like that before.
After the party was over (and I’d had a few myself), I shifted gears into all-out craziness.

Here’s the playlist:(Artist – Title – Album)

Several tracks towards the latter half of the show were played simultaneously, so they are listed in rough chronological order.

As luck would have it, my recording process broke down and I had no time or means to record it in the air room, so it’s been MIA lo these months.
However, someone rescued it -albeit in a less than desirable form – from the station’s FCC backup black box. So, while it doesn’t sound stellar, it’s indeed listenable. Here it is.
