Dr. Zomb’s Stereo Obscura

April 1st, 2010 marked the 15th anniversary of Dr. Zomb’s Stereo Obscura’s first show on KBOO radio
Dr. Zomb’s Stereo Obscura features some way out sounds of amazing lost records every other Thursday evening from 12am to 2am.
On this show, from his anniversary special, Dr. Zomb pulled out all the stops and featured many of the records that he’s been playing for the last 15 years. A sort of Dr. Zomb’s Stereo Obscura’s greatest hits, so to speak.

I’ve long been a fan of his show and he’s turned me onto a lot of cool tunes and has taught me a lot about listening to “the mix“. His shows create the atmosphere of the great thrift store and record store scores and really exemplify the sound of Incredibly Strange Music.

There’s talk of someone starting a non-KBOO affiliated fansite dedicated to Dr. Zomb and his show, with audio archives. If and when that happens, I’ll let you all know.
